Description This Sony Super Betamax was a trade in to an A/V store that has closed, and is part of a lot of A/V gear consigned to me for sale. Since I own and use a Sony Super Betamax myself, I used one of my movies to test it. It played perfectly! The colors were great, even on a cheap portable tv. I checked the fast forward, rewind, and frame by frame advance. It has 1/10, 1/5 slow motion, and crystal clear freeze frame. I didn't hook it up for recording, but I did put in a tape, pushed record, and the record light came on as the tape started moving, which indicates to me that it is recording. The owner didn't have the remote or manual. Also there is a small cover on the top missing ,that went over channel adjustment controls. It will record regular or super beta, in beta II or beta III speeds, and is capable of 5 hour recording on L-830 cassettes in beta III speed. This machine was built in Japan and weighs over 16 lbs.
