This is the only VCR on earth that can play and record all 5 of the world video standards and will convert to/from all of them. No other VCR on earth can convert a video tape from one standard to the other. Because of how rare these units are, some suppliers may offer used/refurbished units as opposed to brand new – and still at their ridiculous asking price of up to $1500, believe it or not (I can send you the URL to a site asking just that at amount for one that may or may not be new! Amazon.com has four listed ranging from $850.00 to $984.00). However, no other unit will do exactly what the 5000W does, so maybe the price is worth it!  However, my auction starts at a lot less than that! Samsung SV-5000W Worldwide Multisystem Converter VCR This unit has scarcely been used, having been bought so my son could watch his UK Disney videos here in the USA. He grew up fast and so it sat on the shelf for about a year, then was put back in its original box together with original remote, instructions etc etc and has been doing nothing for the last four years. Taking it out again we find, of course, it all still works perfectly and is in pretty much ‘as new condition’ (I can’t find any blemishes)   We no longer have the Disney tapes and the Video Camera is all DVD now, so I am offering this unit on eBay to someon who will know how to take advantage of it fully.
