This is football on a very high quality Fujitsu P55XTA51UB 55” plasma TV that sells for $8,999. Viewable area of the 55” plasma is 48.4” wide by 27.2” high. Total square footage of viewing area is 9.14 square feet. Now, here is the same game on a 120” projection screen lit up with a Runco VX1000D projector. For about the same price, you can have an image more than 4.7 times as big! 120” diagonal image, viewing area is 105” wide by 59” high and the square footage is 43.02. Both images are shown to scale, exactly as if you had both of these in your room so you can see just how MUCH bigger and better the projection system is over the plasma TV. Which would you rather watch? Which would you prefer for your Super Bowl party next year? This listing is for a Runco VX 1000D HDTV widescreen projector with DHD Scaler. This is a lightly used Store Demo with a New Runco OEM Bulb installed. The projector is in excellent working condition and comes with the manual, remote, power cable, original box and packing. We have thoroughly tested the projector and scaler to be sure that it all works perfectly. There are only a few very minor cosmetic blemishes as indicated in the photos below. I have tested it with my $6,000 reference DVD player, my Blu-Ray player, my Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation3 and my HD DVD player and it looks stunning with all these sources. This unit is in great shape and will be a truly great value for the buyer. If you have - or want to have - a big screen, this projector would be a great choice. The cheapest projector that Runco recommends for a screen of more than 110” in diagonal in their current line is $17,000. With this VX1000D, you can easily go all the way to a 130” diagonal screen. And remember, a 130” screen is over 60% larger than a 110” screen. So it's like talking about the difference between a car that goes 100 miles an hour and a car that goes 160 miles an hour. The Runco 1000 series is one of the longest running and most reliable series of projectors in history. Runco has sold more of the 1000 series than any other projector priced over $10,000 from any manufacturer. I have a Runco VX1000Ci in my own theater, it's very similar to the 1000D I am selling here, but mine has the older PFP scaler. We had about 20 people over for a movie recently and they were blown away at how good my theater looks. None of our friends or neighbors have anything close. It gives more light output than the 810, better quality optics, and comes with the state of the art $6,000 DHD scaler. This is the top scaler in the industry today. The projector also has an excellent throw distance of 1.85 - 2.4 times screen width which is perfect for most installations. The Runco VX-1000D has been replaced with a new model at $17,000, the VX 2000D. The new one is very similar, from the outside it looks the same but it uses a new Texas Instruments DLP chip.
