BEST MODEL!    Upgraded Recording Capacity!  I recenty upgraded to a dvr with HD and have no use for this anymore.  This works great.    This auction is for my Replay TV DVR with 160 hour upgrade.  If you have never owned a DVR and currently using a VCR to record shows off TV, or have been renting a less capable DVR box from your cable company, then this is the item you definitely want.    Also, if you already own a DVR but want another one for your bedroom, child's room, dorm room, second home, great room, etc. This is will work perfectly for you.   Any DVR makes it easy to record TV shows; but I originally purchased this ReplayTV over a Tivo for several unique features:    This Replay 5040 Model is simply THE BEST DVR you can buy of all REPLY MODELS EVER MADE!  Why?   It has the feature on it that caused television executives to file a lawsuit against Sonicblue, maker of this unit.  That feature is AUTOMATIC COMMERCIAL ADVANCE!  It is designed to automatically skip over commercials on playback of your recordings.  Why is this such a big deal? For you, because you can now save precious time watching shows and movies without being  forced to watch companies hawking laundry detergent, ED drugs, cell phone plans, hemorrhoid ointment, and other annoying commercials. And it works like a charm!  For them, they were afraid of spending big money on commercials that people would not watch because of this feature. Don't worry. If you ever need to watch a commercial, they are actually recorded on every recording. You just have to switch if off with a touch of the button on the remote! That easy. This feature is so handy that I can be sitting in the room talking with friends or family, on the computer, the phone....whatever...and I don't even have to have the remote control in my hand to skip past the commercials that most of you will being doing with other brand DVRs remote! You can't really appreciate this feature until you use it. This feature was only added to Replay Units model number 50xx series. The 55xx series DOES NOT have this feature and NEVER will.
