Description
I would like to comment on how the new FB policy has effected my rating. I have a lifetime rating of 99.7 with 1600+ in positives and five negatives. Under the new system 1400+ positives are no longer counted and a NON PAYING BIDDER was allowed to leave a negative FB. I also recieved five neutals from on buyer who felt he overpaid on shipping when paying $25 on five items. When all was said and done, he actually paid $13 in shipping after a discount and recieved five bonus discs. Being a good buyer he tried to change his feedback to positives, but was told it could not be done. Most recently, a buyer claimed non-reciept of an item even though it was sent with delivery confirmation. The buyer claimed that delivery confirmation did not confirm delivery, and also did not even confirm the item was mailed. To believe this, one would have to believe that all the dates that appear on the USPS website are completely made up. As a courtesy I sent another copy of the item with delivery confirmation. Before delivery of this second shipment was confirmed, the buyer immediately filed for a refund, but that claim was dropped when that item delivered, according to the usps website. I guess to claim both failed to arrive would be a viewed as unbelievable. The buyer then claimed the item had only 21 tracks on it, which was not true and is not claimed by any of 20 other buyers in positvie feedbacks. The buyer left a nagative based on these untrue claims. This is the type of thing created by a totally one-sided FB policy where truth is unimportant. If these glaring problems were corrected my feedback rating would still be above 99%. Up for auction is a NEW Pioneer DVD Recorder that includes an 80g HDD, the DVR-533H. This was the last model designed by Pioneer that was truly made to a high standard of quality. It is true they have made a couple of models since, that for the most part have only been reached in other countries, this model was built to a quality standard not reached by the newer models. Pioneer manufactured the 533 and 633, the only difference being the size of the HDD. The image used is slightly different that how the face of the unit actually appears. The DVR533 is slimmer and has more face buttons. This model offers many features not included on other recorders. First let me provide all the normal options. The unit has three S-Video inputs and two outputs as well as component output. It is progressive scan and was the last domestic Pioneer model to include the DV input. This recorder will record to DVD-R / DVD-RW. It will play DVD-R / DVD-RW / DVD+R / DVD+RW & DVD-RAM as well as dual layer discs. Unlike the newer (cheap recorders), this unit gives the user a full aray of recording options, more than any other recorder. In addition to standard recording lenths of SP / LP and SL, the recorder provides a MANUAL MODE that allows the user to set upto 32 recording levels which are about every five mintues between 1 and 6 hours to provide the best image quality to fit the needs of the user. For instance, if the user wants to record the movie THE FUGITVE which runs 126 minutes. With many recorders that offer a two hour mode or a three or four hour mode, it does not fit. With the Pioneer, the user can pick the viedeo lenth of 130 mintues. The movie would fit perfectly and give the best quality. The user can change this mode for any recording. This recorder will provide full DVD resolution (480 lines) for recordings up of 152 minutes on a standard disc. This would hold ID4 or any of the Star Wars films. From an editing prospective, the Pioneer recorder gives the user the most HDD recording flexibility. If the user records an episode of CSI and does not want the commericials, that is not a problem. The user can easily remove all the commericals on a hard drive recording with the press of a button. The user an simply surround the commercials with chapter marks and then erase the enclosed chapter, easy as pie. This same process can be used to remove excess footage from the begining or end of a recording. The user can divide a long recording into smaller parts. When dubbing from HDD to disc, this can be done at high speed (4x) or the recorder can also do a bitrate change dub. This means the clip can be recorded to the HDD in a very high bitrate and then dub to disc in a rate that will fit on the disc. When a high speed dub is used, all the chapter marks will remain where they appeared on the HDD. If the user wants a more simple way of inputing chapter marks in a HDD recording, there is an auto setting. Those can be removed later if the user wishes, to insert chapters before the clip is dubbed to disc. The Pioneer unit offers the user the ability to create menus that included thumbnail images that are user selected from anywhere in the clip. The user can pick from six different backgounds for these thumbnails, with multiple pages if necessary. The menu and titling process is professional but yet easy. Most users will not utilize all the features that this recorder offers but it is sure nice to know that they are there. This unit is an incredible machine. In addition, in side by side image quality comparisions, the Pioneer yields a superior image to that of Sony or Panasonic, per Sound/Vision. This NEW unit was purchase at auction. It has been opened and serial numbers verified. It is not a refurbished unit. The recorder comes with the most recent and modern Pioneer remote the VXX3223, which is very user friendly. This unit is and was the best of the Pioneer consumer recorders and with a HDD, it gives hours and hours of recording time and tons of features. The unit also comes TV Guide programing guide which is similar to Tivo but at no cost. One final option that this recorder has the is unique to Pioneer and that is the ONE TOUCH RECODING MODE. This feature is wonderful as it allows the user the insert and previously recorded disc and then tranfer it back to HDD, but it keeps it in the digtial mode, so that there is little loss of quality. This is great is you want to re-edit a recording or use a different bit rate. The unit was manufactured in late 2005 but has not been used and is still in it's new packaging, and again only opened to verify the contents of the box. All accessoreis and manual are included. Buyer pays shipping of $30 (which includes insurance)
